Having full hull integrity or more armor doesn't stop your ships from losing cannons. All over the place in Legends One sidequest heavily references 1984, a couple others reference television in passing, and one involving dating genies names a place called "LavaLampLife" which sounds a lot like a website, meaning the internet is apparently a thing.
